1] I'm digging a hole.

To be frank, Mindy needed work. It was only a few days when several very interesting bombshells were planted into her lap. Firstly, being here, but more importantly? That she was here with all the money she and her dad heisted. That was an impressive feat, but nothing compared to the things that had happened in a short amount of time. She was drafted into a party, became someone's...sobame, which she guessed meant she was a concubine that didn't put out (she hoped). By virtue of cooking and being a bodyguard she now had access to a mansion. Prinnies did not know shit about gathering a motorcycle.

All things Mindy thought about as she was now in a tank top and shorts, digging the valley she promised to make a few days ago. It was backbreaking work, which was why she took it, and while she didn't mind the labor, it would have been much better if she had someone to talk to to pass the time. There was playing music through the myphone, but she was trying to take in the demon landscape for the moment.

2] Finally checking in with Iono.

She was done for the day. She was tired, achy and in need of a good scrub, but after all that digging she wanted to make sure she planned ahead for what she had to do for Iono, since she was pretty sure about her other duties. The only trick would be finding out where exactly she was.

Where did queen's in the netherworld live anyway?

Mindy made a face. "How can they shoot bullets? Rabbits don't have oppose-able thumbs."

Magic bullets? Did they shoot them out of their mouth or something?

"Don't be silly. It's the same as what I did with the spell card, but with considerably less bullets."

[hit_girl_mindy]

Mindy sighed. "You mean they can hold actually cards in their paws?"

[mooned_hime]

"They can't use spell cards," Kaguya repeated patiently, "... I have played card games with them a few times, though."

Was she missing something here? How did they shoot bullets? Out of their mouths? Out of their...

Nevermind, she didn't want to KNOW. "So they can help, that's good.I just don't get how they summon the bullets."

"Magic."

Magic explained everything.

Mindy clasped a hand to her face. "Vikings and moon people and magic. Nope, totally not crazy."

"What do vikings have to do with it?"

[hit_girl_mindy]

"My girlfriend is one. That wouldn't be a big deal except for the fact that they existed years and years ago in the past in my world. Waking up one day and seeing one in the flesh is as unlikely as magic or moon people."

[mooned_hime]

"That doesn't sound unlikely to me at all."

Course, Kaguya just had to look in the mirror to see a moon person, and Gensokyo itself was just full of odd things.

"Yeah, well, thing are different for you. it's usually pretty hard to explain that I live in a world there is no magic or traveling back or anything like that. The world, at least for me, is a fixed point, and its people who change it, for better or worse."

Mostly for worse.

"That sounds rather dull."

[hit_girl_mindy]

"Don't be that obtuse. Just because that stuff doesn't exist doesn't mean humans can't find a way to liven things up with each other. Wars, gang fights, politics...its kinda like this place, but more secretive about the lies and the pandering."

Mostly, anyway.

"Wars and gang fights? I suppose that's one way to liven things up..."

[hit_girl_mindy]

"There are a lot of ways, but that's just the ones I know off the top of my head. Business men do important things too, and a bunch of other people when you get down to it. I'm just telling you what I know."

"Well, what do you do?"

[hit_girl_mindy]

That actually gave Mindy pause. "Uh, depends. Back on Earth, the ship or now?"

[mooned_hime]

"Back on Earth, of course."

[hit_girl_mindy]

"Back on earth, I was Mindy Macready, by day. By night I was Hit Girl, hero to take out the scum that got through the corruption of the law. My dad trained me so that we could fight crime together, and we were good at what we did! The bad guys...could be just as bad though."

D'Amico. A name she would hate forever.

"The bad guys weren't good at what they did?" Kaguya wondered.

Did she misinterpret on purpose or...? It was hard to tell with the moon princess.

[hit_girl_mindy]

"Bad guys infiltrate the law, and once they find a comfortable place, do whatever they want within reason. It's a cushy enough spot, and believe me, they do bad things to people that disappoint them. When we came, we killed off and hurt a lot of their enterprises, so they got smart. One day, they did trick us. It wasn't good. We-I had to adapt, not play by ear."

"I assume you were the victor in the end?"

[hit_girl_mindy]

"You could say that," Mindy said, making sure to dig a little deeper.

She wasn't sure what her face was showing, so best to take precautions.

The topic had gotten a little dark for Kaguya's taste, so she was willing to let it drop when it seemed Mindy didn't want to talk about it further.

"What about the ship you mentioned earlier?"

[hit_girl_mindy]

That was for the best.

"I got transferred to this ship of magic and mutants and monsters. It's where I met Ruff and Lash and Overlord Zetta. It's why this place is not freaking me out more than it could."
