Why would I be so wasteful? It takes a thousand years for a demon child to grow into a useful warrior, if I ate them I would never have any army.

We have all manner of creatures, but the only things I have ever heard called gnomes are associated with geo-symbols. And I'm not even sure that those effects and mechnics made the jump to this format.

While theoretically anything is within their power, it's stupid to go to them with trivial requests that have no benefit to them. You might as well ask them for money.

Everyone already tries to beat them up, so you won't catch them off guard. And even if you aren't asking them for money, they are notoriously stingy with giving things away.
