Your world is one of those ones that tries to 'explain' magic using physical terms, then.

Where I'm from, magic obeys different rules, and certain creatures have exploits of those rules.

You've got it backwards-magic isn't separate from the explanation, magic is the explanation, the origin of the universe and the reason why anything exists at all. It is the explanation, the theory of everything that makes my power possible.
