[You've all arrived by your own will or have been hustled into a classroom by a flock of stampeding prinnies. You've been in the room for a few minutes before your first teacher shows up, fashionably late~]

[It's some kind of effeminate flower person: Senator Trap!]

... why are you all here? This is class. You don't belong here.

[Sigh] Making my life hard.

Alright, whatever. I'm Senator Trap and this class is "Zen-Not-Giving-A-Care." I'd have prepared a lesson plan, but it turns out I'm already a master at not caring. So I guess that means you're all going to have to learn from my example as I spend the next hour and a half playing Tetris. [pulls out his myPhone.]

Of course, if you actually care about learning, you're already failing this class.

So he's just going to put his head down on his desk and let his mind wander. Sitting on his desk next to his head is a Pikachu, who's looking around the room happily and making cute little 'pika pika' noises at anyone who seems to be looking its way. It seems to be excited about all the interesting-looking people in here.]

Excellent, a lab specimen. [looking at the yellow rat]

[The Pikachu makes an inquisitive sound as it looks at Farnsworth, one of its ears twitching a bit. Red notices his Pikachu's behavior and looks over at the old man as well, giving him a wary look.]

[pulls out a syringe with some strange green liquid to poke the pikachu with]

[And then it immediately retaliates with a Thunderbolt.]

PikaaaaaCHUUUUUUUU!!

[Normally Red would scold his Pikachu for that kind of thing, but considering what he was about to do... he'll let it slide this time, instead giving it a comforting pat on the head.]

[Staring intently at the Pikachu]

...pika pika?

Pika pika!

[It repeats the phrase more enthusiastically this time, while its trainer is continuing to zone out.]

[Leans closer and pokes a finger at the strange critter]

What are you some kinda rabbit?

[Red suddenly chimes in to answer her question, although in a flat tone.]

It's a Pikachu.

[Doesn't bother looking up]

Peek at who?

[pokes one of his little red cheeks]

He's all squishy heh.

[watching the little creature. She has to admit, it is cute.]
What is that?

[The little guy sure is popular today. Red can't say he's too surprised, though.]

A Pikachu.

I've never seen something like that before.
[she goes to poke it]

[That gets another 'pika' out of it as it looks at the girl curiously.]

I'm guessing there are no Pokémon where you're from, either?

[Meets her gaze.]

Is that a Pikachu?

[laconism]

Yeah.

[Wow, she's the first person so far to know what a Pikachu is.]

[Blinks, shaking her head]

Uh, what's your name?

[highsodiumfreak]

[Oh, hey, it's cute. And a little familiar, though Sam can't place where he's seen it before.]

[Pikachu's ears perk up as it looks at Sam, giving him a cute little smile.]

Pika!

[highsodiumfreak]

Hey.

[Just going to reach over to ruffle the fur on its head a little.]

Chuuu...

[It seems to be enjoying that a lot.

Red glances over at Sam for a moment, but as usual, he doesn't say anything. So long as he's not bothering Pikachu, there's no reason to interrupt.]

[Aww, you're adorable. Sam turns his attention from the Pikachu to the kid, still ruffling its hair all the while.]
